British farmland birds population plummet by 11 per cent since the mid 1990s

Official figures show that farmland bird populations have plummeted by 11 per cent across England since the mid 1990s - and that once common species such as the starling Sturnus vulgaris, turtle dove Streptopelia turtur and corn bunting Miliaria calandra are suffering the most.
